Mexico: At least 85 die in fuel pipeline blast

The deadly pipeline explosion in central Mexico claimed at least 85 lives, local media reported on Monday.

Some 58 others were hospitalized after helping cleanup efforts by gathering spilled fuel in buckets around the fractured pipe in the Tlahuelilpan town -- roughly 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of capital Mexico City, the local daily El Siglo cited Mexico’s Health Minister Jorge Alcocer as saying.

Mexican state oil company Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex) announced on Saturday that an oil pipeline had exploded in the Tlahuelilpan town of central Hidalgo state.
