Russia may close territory to road transport of 'unfriendly countries'
Russian President Vladimir Putin gives authority to government to apply ban on movements of road transport if necessary

Russia's president on Thursday authorized the government to close the country's borders to road transport from "unfriendly countries."
In a decree, Vladimir Putin also gave the government the power to decide when to apply such measures.
Since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war on Feb.24, EU countries have taken various restrictions on the use of European lands by Russian road transport.
