Turkey seeks closer defense ties to Colombia

Turkey is considering closer military ties with Colombia, Deputy Defense Minister Suay Alpay said late Tuesday.

Alpay, who attended Expodefensa 2017 in Bogota before visiting Anadolu Agency’s office in the city, said Turkey’s involvement in the exhibition demonstrated its support for the Colombian defense industry.

“We conveyed this to them,” he said. “We are considering that we might have cooperation with the Colombian side. The meetings regarding this will continue.”

Alpay also welcomed the launch of Anadolu Agency’s Spanish service in October.
