Turkish actor dies in car accident
After being struck by another driver, Erdal Tosun died in Istanbul at the age of 53
Erdal Tosun, a well-known Turkish actor of stage and screen, died early Wednesday in a car accident in Istanbul's Sariyer district, according to security sources.
He was 53.
The sources, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, said a driver struck Tosun's car after hitting a median strip on Buyukdere Street.
Tosun could not exit the car and he died at the scene. His body was taken to Kagithane State Hospital.
Tosun was born in Istanbul in 1963 and he graduated from Mimar Sinan University.
His dozens of acting credits include the 1990s TV series Bir Demet Tiyatro as well as the films Vizontele Tuuba (2003), Organize Isler (2006), Cakallarla Dans (2010), and this year’s Dugun Dernek 2: Sunnet.
