Water level in dams is decreasing!
According to the information obtained from the Konya Water and Sewerage Administration (KOSKİ) General Directorate, an average of 114 million cubic meters of water is wasted in the city center annually. It was learned that this rate increased slightly due to the pandemic period. The dry winter and summer season caused a decrease in the water rates in the dams. According to the information obtained, it was learned that Konya Bağbaşı Dam decreased to 38 percent (75 million 626 thousand cubic meters) and Altınapa Dam decreased to 26 percent (8 million 178 thousand cubic meters).
Tons of wasted water every year causes the water level in dams to decrease. Wasted water brings the drought with it. Turkey as well as all over the world because of drought and increasing water demand, recovery and return of treated water reuse has become more important in recent years. Recycling and reuse of treated water is becoming an important component of urban, regional and national water resources management. According to the data we have received, a family of 4 spends an average of 15 cubic meters of water. When we compare this to the population, there is a consumption of approximately 9 million cubic meters. On a daily basis, 312 thousand cubic meters only give household water consumption. In addition, agriculture and livestock, industrial water expenditures, commercial water consumption of various businesses and physical loss and leakage are also calculated.

WASTE WATER RECYCLING
Due to the increasing need for water and the droughts experienced, water consumption values in Konya closed basin have exceeded the amount of water feeding. For this reason, it was learned that significant decreases were detected in the groundwater level of Konya city. In the Strategic Plan prepared by the General Directorate of KOSKİ for 2007-2011, "the use of treated water obtained from Konya Wastewater Treatment Plant with a capacity of 200 thousand m3 / day for agricultural irrigation or recreational purposes" was determined as a target. It was found that a feasibility study was carried out in 2008 for 2 alternative studies: using the treated water obtained from the facility for recreational and agricultural irrigation by feeding it to urban green area irrigation or to drainage channels in the city. With the feasibility study, it was determined that both alternatives are feasible, but the use of treated water in urban greenfield irrigation is a more economically viable solution.
PROJECT PREPARED FOR USE OF WASTEWATER IN THE URBAN AREA
According to the information obtained, it was said that the project was prepared by the General Directorate of KOSKI for the use of the Konya Wastewater Treatment Plant exit water in the first stage in the urban green area of 1 million 59 thousand 500 square meters. In the content of the project; It consists of an advanced filtration and disinfection facility with more advanced treatment technology, warehouses, pumping stations and purple network for obtaining irrigation water.
