PKK terrorists killed in southeast Turkey operation

Two PKK terrorists have been killed in a counter-terrorism operation in southeastern Turkey, the military said Sunday.

According to a Turkish General Staff statement, they died Saturday in the Dargecit district of Mardin province as they prepared an attack.

The PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the EU and U.S. The group has killed thousands of civilians and security personnel since 1984, including more than 1,200 since July 2015.
