Support for stray animals!

Konya Animal Conservation and Rescue Association (DOSTPATI), which was established in December last year, made various attempts to be the voice of street animals. Saying that they aim to be life for the lives of animals with the association they founded, Selim Connection (20), President of the DOSTPATI Association, said, "We continued this adventure, which we started as an activist on January 4, 2020, by establishing the‘ Konya Animal Protection and Rescue (DOSTPATI) Association on December 12, 2020 ".

THEY DEFEND THE LEGAL RIGHTS OF THE ANIMALS!

Stating that they are also working to defend the legal rights of animals, Association President Selim Connection said, “Our association, which was established in order to ensure that all kinds of creatures in our province and in general, can survive in a more prosperous environment, and that they are treated, cared for, fed and nested, has achieved many developments so far. In addition to these, as the DOSTPATI Association, which defends the legal rights of our little friends, we take legal initiatives to keep the draft law away from all kinds of maltreatment. We organize activities in order to raise awareness in our society and instill love for animals in humanity, we interact to touch and awaken the feelings of compassion of humanity. Achieving our goals is only possible with your support ”.

'LOVING ANIMALS IS NOT ENOUGH'

Stressing that loving animals alone will not be enough, Connection said, “Since I was little, I had a love for animals. From the age of 18, I started to defend their legal rights besides loving mortars. We worked as an activist from January 4th to December 12th. In this period of time, we have achieved many successes. We are doing the necessary work to be the voice of street animals not only in Konya, but also in cities such as Mersin and Adana. Animal lovers in different provinces seek help from us, and we contact the relevant institutions in those provinces. One association is not enough to help all animals. Institutions need to support. We established the DOSTPATI Association in order for the institutions to support stray animals and to take action ”.

'HUNGER IS THE MOST CHALLENGING OF ANIMALS'

Pointing out that hunger is the most difficult thing for animals, Connection said: “In winter, the need for shelter is also a problem for street animals. Since the Karatay aslım dump is an empty land, there are densely street animals. They have no shelter areas, food or food. In addition to large dogs, there are also many puppies. We heard about the information that there were 1,200- thousand 300 dogs there. Konya swept away in this sense. These numbers are very high. If there are so many street animals in only one area, these numbers will increase together with the street animals in other districts. A dog breeds 3-4 dogs at once, and the number of stray animals can reach incredible numbers. To prevent this, stray animals need to be sterilized. Otherwise, we will not be able to help them all. "

‘THEY CANNOT RESIST TO HUNGER, NOT TO THE COLD’

Pointing out that stray animals cannot endure hunger more than cold, Connection said, “It can take up to 17 hours for dogs to freeze to death when their bellies are hungry. In other words, even if the weather is very cold, they can have a body temperature that will warm themselves when their bellies are full. When animals are hungry, they lose energy and therefore freeze to death from the cold. Citizens must first stop complaining about 'there is a dog, there is a cat'. It would be incredibly beneficial for animals to put the leftover food in every person's home at the door. Our people especially throw leftovers into the garbage. Instead of doing this, leftover food can be put on the edge of the garbage or on the edge of a tree, ”he said.

'WE ARE INTERMEDIATE FOR THEM ‘

Drawing attention to the wrong known about associations, Link said, “People have a thought like this: 'You are an association, you are receiving financial support from an institution.' There is no such thing. Animals are not valued by humans anyway. Who will provide financial assistance to the association? We mediate between stray animals and related institutions to help stray animals. For example, we ask for food by meeting with a District Municipality and make sure that the municipality provides the aid. When the other person does not know his rights, he cannot defend himself. We kind of become their voice to meet their needs, ”he concluded his words.
